6 March is International Lymphoedema Day. SLF has organised two events as part of this day.
In Lausanne at the CHUV, SLF in collaboration with LymphoSuisse is organising a meeting for patients suffering from lymphoedema and/or lipoedema on Saturday 5 March 2022.
At the beginning of the event, Didier Tomson, physiotherapist and osteopath, President of SLF and Vice-President of LymphoSuisse, will give an update on these conditions. Afterwards, the manufacturers of compression garments will have the opportunity to present their leading products and novelties in short presentations. Following this informative part of the event, the floor will be opened to patients. Based on testimonials, an exchange between patients as well as between patients and therapists will be facilitated in order to share experiences with the aim of improving the quality of life and therapeutic care of people with these diseases. This event has been postponed.

In Winterthur at the KSW, the Institute for Therapies and Rehabilitation, together with SLF, is organising a meeting for therapists trained in lymphology on 7 March 2022. Yvette Stoel, Clinical Specialist Lymphology and Board Member SLF, and Florian Jung, Deputy Chief Physician of Plastic Surgery, explain and discuss how manual lymphatic drainage techniques have evolved since they were established by Emil Vodder in 1932. You will see a live indocyanine green fluoroscopy showing the function of the superficial lymphatic collectors in real time. This event takes place.
